IDDQD’s listed furniture labor estimates include $20 for a chair, $45 for a desk or table and $115 for a bed frame. These are this website’s starting estimates, not a New York market average or a confirmed quote. The actual model, configuration, access and agreed extras determine the final price.
Compare the same job, not just the lowest headline.
A desk can be a straightforward frame or a larger build with drawers and storage. A wardrobe can mean one unit or a complete system. Before comparing providers, send each the same product links, quantities, location and requirements. Ask what the quote includes and what could change it.
- The exact products and complete configuration.
- Whether the amount is per item, per hour or for the whole job.
- Anchoring, packaging removal, access and any agreed extras.
- The final scope, price and available appointment.
Two itemized examples.
These examples are calculated from the same item rates as the estimate builder. They are illustrative lists, not past customer jobs or discounted packages. Materials and separately agreed extras are not included.

Product and configuration
Share the product link and all the components. For a wardrobe system, include frames, doors, drawers and accessories. A familiar model name alone may not describe the full build.
Preparation and access
Say whether boxes are already in the installation room. Mention stairs, elevator arrangements, deliveries, building access and any furniture that needs moving. Confirm which extra tasks can be accepted and how they will be priced.
Anchoring and finishing
Ask about manufacturer-required wall anchoring and tell us about the wall. Packaging removal, disassembly and disposal should be described separately. Do not assume a labor estimate includes those tasks.
One room, several rooms or one item?
For one chair or table, go straight to the item list. For a larger project, create named rooms, adjust the suggested furniture and add the items you actually have. The room planner keeps each room separate while combining the request into one summary. It does not automatically apply a multi-item discount.
You can also include TV mounting or shelves and mirrors. Custom scopes stay marked “Quote required,” alongside any priced labor subtotal.
Send this for a useful quote.

- Your borough, preferred timing and access details.
- Any anchoring, moving, disassembly or packaging-removal requests.
- Your preferred way to receive the reply.
IDDQD reviews the actual job before accepting it. Sending an inquiry does not reserve a date or take payment. Direct-inquiry estimates and TaskRabbit pricing are separate.

Share the details you have. IDDQD will clarify the scope, quote and available timing before an appointment is confirmed.
